Course Registration

If your child is not currently an ISD 624 student, you must complete the online enrollment process prior to registration. Visit ISD 624's Enrollment website for information about how to enroll your child.

2021-22 Course Registration

In January 2021, we will begin the registration process of selecting middle school courses for the 2021-22 school year.  Students will receive information in class on January 15. Parents of incoming 6th graders, (or parents of students who are new to the district) who would like to learn about the middle school program and course options are encouraged to attend our virtual Parent Registration Information Night from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2021 (see information below).  Parents and students should take the following steps to prepare for registration:

  • Review and discuss course offerings listed in the 2021-22 Registration Guide on the right-hand side of this page.
  • Watch the course videos to learn more about the courses on the right-hand side of this page.
  • Review and watch the written and video Registration Instructions for your child's 2021-2022 grade level on the right-hand side of this page. 

Students/families will enter their course requests into Skyward beginning January 15, 2021.  All course requests and alternates must be entered no later than January 22, 2021.  

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES 

CLASS OF 2028 (Incoming 6th Grade)

On January 15, 2021, teachers from the elementary school will post registration materials and informational videos on Google Classroom for their students.  On January 19, 2021, they will review registration materials, answer questions, and assist students with the Skyward course online registration process. Online registration runs from January 15, 2021 through January 22, 2021.  Parents are encouraged to review the elective selections (Band, Choir, Orchestra, Music Enrichment, and/or AVID) made by their child.  Informational videos about courses in each department are also available on this web page.  Specialized courses for students who receive instruction/support through the special education program will be determined at spring IEP meetings.  Students or families needing additional assistance with the registration process are encouraged to contact their child’s 5th grade teacher or the CMS counseling office at 651-653-2881.

On January 15, 2021, block two (period 8) teachers from the middle school will post registration materials and informational videos on Google Classroom for their students.  On January 19, 2021, they will review registration materials, answer questions, and assist students with the Skyward course online registration process. Online registration runs from January 15, 2021 through January 22, 2021.   Parents are encouraged to review the elective selections made by their child by logging in to Skyward.  Informational videos about courses in each department are also available on this web page.  Specialized courses for students who receive instruction/support through the special education program will be determined at spring IEP meetings.  Students or families needing additional assistance with the registration process are encouraged to contact the CMS counseling office at 651-653-2881.

PARENT REGISTRATION INFORMATION NIGHT

Parents and guardians of current 5th graders (or parents of students who are new to the district) are invited to attend the virtual Parent Registration Information Night for the 2021-2022 school year to learn more about the middle school program, registration process, and available courses. 

Our virtual Parent Registration Information Night will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2021 via livestream.  Click on this link during that time to watch it.

Information on the following topics will be shared during the Livestream on January 12th: Transitioning to Central, A Typical Day, Course Offerings, Opportunities to be Involved, Support for Students and Families, Registration, and Next Steps.

There will be a brief question and answer session after the presentation on January 12th.
