Digital Expectations and Rules for Distance Learning
All school expectations and rules apply in distance learning. Schools are not changing behavior expectations. The way learning is happening is changing. Digital etiquette is more important than ever before.
All White Bear Lake Area Schools’ students need to practice good digital citizenship. Here's how:
- Think before you post
- Protect your private information
- Follow the schedules acceptable use guidelines
- Stand up to Cyberbulling
- Give proper credit when using other people's work
- Communicate respectively
- Use digital tools to talk with people not about them
- Remember that anything posted online is permanent
Online Communication Expectations
Do This
- Ask questions related to the topic being discussed.
- Be kind and respectful with your questions and comments.
- Think twice before you type and post
- Check for spelling and grammar in your posts and assignments.
- Be understanding of mistakes.
Not That
- Do not use all capital letters. It is considered yelling and is disrespectful.
- Do not post comments that are rude or unrelated to the topic.
- Do not answer questions with sarcasm or inappropriate language or images.
- Do not make comments that are hurtful or insulting.
